It is estimated that more than 42 million Americans are survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

The heart of the Survivors Finding Voice is raising community awareness about the sexual abuse of children.   The project tells the unique stories of 13 survivors by combining my photographic images with the story lines from survivors.   This project was conceived in the spring of 2013 and with support from the Upstate South Carolina community and the Greenville Metropolitan Arts Council the project was birthed in February 2014 when it debuted to an audience of 900 people at the Julie Valentine Center’s annual luncheon.  To date more than 2000 people have seen the project and the work has been well-received!

I am currently working on a second series of ten survivor story panels, which I plan to complete by mid-2015.

Donations to the project give me an opportunity to continue the work of interviewing survivors, creating the images for the story panels, printing the completed works, and literally “taking the show on the road.”   One of my goals is to offer the project for showings at schools and in other public settings without charge and your donations will help make that possible.

Yes!  I’d like to become a major project sponsor!

Major project sponsorships are available for $500.  As a major sponsor you or your organization will be featured on the website home page and you have the opportunity to have the project available for a showing within a 100-mile radius of Greenville, SC.  This would be an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to have the exhibit as part of a fundraiser for their local advocacy center!  Please contact me for more information!
